About Dr. Perez Garcia

Dr. Perez was born and educated in Havana, Cuba. She graduated from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana and completed her Family Medicine Residency in both Cuba and Haiti. Following this, she pursued her Ophthalmology Residency at Calixto Garcia University Hospital in Cuba and then completed a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at the Ramon Pando Ferrer Cuban Eye Institute, where she also worked as a vitreoretinal surgeon.

Dr. Perez pursued her career in the United States in 2013, where she completed a one-year Medical Retina Fellowship at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida, followed by a two-year fellowship at the University of Florida. Dr. Perez moved to Kentucky in 2022 and she joined the staff at River City Retina Consultants in 2024.

In her spare time, Dr. Perez enjoys attending theater and ballet performances, playing table tennis, dancing salsa, and spending time with her family.
