Yes! Dilation is the most accurate method for our physicians to examine the back of your eyes, allowing them to properly diagnose and treat your condition. After the exam, your eyes will generally remain dilated for 3 to 4 hours. Some patients may experience light sensitivity and difficulty in reading or close work. Patients also may have difficulty driving so you may want to have someone drive you to your appointment. We also offer reversal drops that can typically reduce the duration of dilation by half. Please note that this is an out-of-pocket expense if you are interested.
We accept most major insurance plans. If you’re unsure, contact our office at 502-897-9881, and we’ll verify your coverage.
We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. Co-payment, balances and most deductibles are due at the time of service.
Yes, we offer payment plan options for qualified patients. Please contact our billing department for more details.
A vitrectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the vitreous gel inside the eye. It’s used to treat conditions like retinal detachment, macular holes, and vitreous hemorrhage.
Anti-VEGF injections block abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina and reduce leakage. They are commonly used to treat wet macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion.
Laser treatments and injections are generally quick and cause minimal discomfort. Most patients experience mild irritation that resolves shortly after the procedure.
Recovery varies depending on the procedure. For example, most patients can resume normal activities shortly after injections or laser treatments, while vitrectomy may require a longer recovery period and specific post-operative care.
Follow-up schedules depend on your condition and treatment plan. Some patients require monthly visits, while others may only need periodic monitoring.
